Happy 160th Birthday Gus
On Thursday March 8th, the Gustav Stickley House Foundation held a celebration honoring the 160th Anniversary of the birth of Gustav Stickley at Dalton’s American Decorative Arts. In addition to the Foundation Board, members of the community, including family descendants, joined together to celebrate Gus’s legacy and hear updates on the restoration progress. Special guest was Amy Bleier Long, Assistant Content Editor of Central New York Magazine: The Good Life who shared her recent article Looking Forward for A Look Back which is featured in the March/April edition. The article is an in-depth look at the Columbus Avenue house, its history, importance in the Arts & Crafts Movement and the ongoing restoration efforts. Attendees enjoyed light refreshments and birthday cake.
